This is the tale of Leonard Oshiro
Has a crush on his coworker Akiko
But he’s the boss and that’s a no no
Keeping to his work is best

He bought an old Victorian
Got some baristas within the kitchen
Called it Leonard’s Tea Emporium
Of Total Kitten Madness

He’s there every day
It’s a place where people pay
To drink and play and socialize
With 10-15 small felines
Everything was going well for a time

But he broke the health code
And there were backers that he owed
And on Tilly they found some fleas
While Coco Chanel died of disease
And he’s gone on the press and he’s lied and lied

Attendance was poor in those very last days
Despite the addition of a mirror maze
Employees left since there was no raise
And it was only Leonard who stayed

He had to shut the business down
Now he’s looking for dishwashing jobs in town
With friends around, he jokes about
It was he who let the dogs out

Hey there Akiko
Things are not the same
Would you like to grab some pizza
Would you like to watch the game
Thursday night is perfect
Can’t wait for our date
I’ll pick you up at your apartment
I’m unemployed so I won’t be late

They helped an old lady out
Trying to bring a big box up
They just pushed it on the floor
Careful to push but not to pull
She said you don’t want to end up like me one day

Don’t ever get too old
Don’t do what you’re told
Do what you want
Even if you do mess up
Because the fact remains you’ll be remains anyway

This is the story that Leonard tells
He doesn’t say how his business failed
Just that he met Akiko and that was that
All he ever wanted was love and a cat.
